NightLase — the non-invasive, no-needles way we treat snoring.
NightLase is a gentle laser treatment we offer across Magical Smiles using the Fotona LightWalker. It works on the same small areas of the throat we just walked through.

Fotona LightWalker — Er:YAG laser · NightLase.
The idea is quietly simple.
The idea is quietly simple: gently firm the tissues at the back of the throat, so they vibrate less.
We use carefully controlled pulses of Er:YAG laser light on the soft palate and surrounding tissues. The heat is calibrated to encourage natural collagen tightening over the following weeks — no cutting, no needles, no anaesthetic. Most people describe the sensation as warmth, not pain.
For many patients with simple snoring, NightLase reduces both the volume and the frequency of the noise. We're going to keep saying this — results vary. We'd rather be honest about that up front than promise something we can't.
A few things NightLase is not.
It isn't surgery.
It isn't a treatment for severe obstructive sleep apnoea — that needs a sleep physician.
It isn't a guarantee. Some people respond beautifully. Some respond partially. We'll tell you honestly which group you're likely in before we start.
It isn't a substitute for a sleep study if one is indicated.
Three small zones — the same ones where snoring most often begins.
Each NightLase session passes gently over these three areas. No injections, no incisions, nothing taken away. The tissue is encouraged to firm naturally over the following weeks.

The tonsillar pillars
The arches at the sides of the throat — the first stop. Gentle laser passes encourage firming along these tissues.

The soft palate
The most classic source of snoring vibration. The laser is moved across the soft palate in a steady, calm pattern.

The base of the tongue
The quiet contributor in heavier snoring patterns. We finish with this area when it's part of your picture.
A direction, not a sales pitch.
We'll ask about your sleep, your partner's experience, the snoring pattern, any morning tiredness, and what you've already tried.
One of our dentists checks the soft palate, tonsillar area, tongue position, jaw alignment, and bite.
We'll either suggest a sleep study (with a referral to a sleep physician), explain whether NightLase is a sensible fit for your anatomy, or talk through an oral appliance for milder cases. Sometimes the answer is “wait and watch” — and that's okay too.
If you choose NightLase: three short sessions, usually three to four weeks apart, at around 20 minutes per session. No needles, no anaesthetic, no downtime. You eat, drink, and talk normally afterwards.
