Laser Teeth Whitening Treatment
What is Laser Teeth Whitening?
Tooth discolouration can make you feel self-conscious. People tend to notice your teeth first. If you have discoloured teeth, it can be hard to feel confident in front of others.
Professional laser teeth whitening is a great way to get your white smile back! Laser teeth whitening is a cosmetic dentistry procedure that combines professional teeth whitening with a laser. The wavelength that this form of teeth whitening uses has an absorption peak in water. What does that mean for you? The advanced bleaching gel that we use won’t require additional absorbing particles. It won’t penetrate your tooth’s pulp and hard tissue.
Benefits of Laser Teeth Whitening
TouchWhite™ teeth whitening is a gentle, minimally invasive way to get rid of discoloured teeth. It has been shown to be more comfortable than other alternatives. Other advantages of laser tooth whitening include:
It is safer
The laser uses a wavelength that is absorbed by water. We will not need additional absorbing particles to use the bleaching gel. The bleaching agent won’t sit on your tooth for as long, which means greater safety for you. Unlike other laser whitening systems, it will not damage the pulp and hard tissues of your natural teeth.
It Provides Faster Treatment Time
The in-office treatment times are up to 10 times shorter with TouchWhite. Just one session is required, making patient satisfaction extremely high with laser-assisted teeth whitening. The dark spots on your stained teeth can be broken up rapidly with laser light, speeding your whitening process by an astounding 5-10 times!
Reduces Chances of Infection
Laser dentistry is highly valued and utilised throughout the dental community mainly because they help to sterilise the area they contact. Laser treatments do not require stitching; therefore, it means minimal trauma to the gums and teeth and lower chances of infection.
There are no additional equipment or appliances used that may cause irritation or cause bleeding to the gums. There are no after-effects of laser teeth whitening. It is a safe, gentle, and done with expert supervision.

FAQs about Laser Teeth Whitening
The procedure is performed in the dental chair. The teeth are soaked in a whitening solution and activated by a laser. When we’ve determined that you are a candidate for professional teeth whitening treatment, we will need to treat any dental problems, such as cavities or tooth decay, before we can proceed to the following laser bleaching process:
- First, we will give your teeth a professional clean and polish.
- We will then put a plastic or rubber guard in your mouth to keep it open.
- Then, to protect your gums from the bleaching gel, we’ll apply a protective layer. These layers usually solidify, leaving your gums with a rubbery coating. They help keep your gums from becoming irritated and blistering.
- After the protective barrier has formed, we will apply the whitening gel to your teeth with care. The gel will then be activated with a pen-like laser. The gel will foam, indicating that it is removing stains from your teeth.
- For a few minutes, the gel is left on your teeth. Then we’ll use a little vacuum to extract it. We’ll go over these stages three or four times until your teeth are the desired shade.
- In the final step of the bleaching session, we will rinse out your mouth and remove the protective coating over your gums.
Avoid caffeinated beverages and drink only clear drinks for at least two hours after your laser teeth whitening therapy. After that, you should only eat items that will not discolour your whitened teeth. For at least 24 hours, avoid dark-pigmented meals, coffee, tea, and soda.
You may experience slight gum irritation and tooth sensitivity after your laser tooth whitening treatment. Most people have mild, short-term symptoms. However, some might experience severe ones. An allergic reaction is also possible. Avoid drinking and eating hot and cold beverages and foods for a few days after the in-office treatment to prevent these potential side effects.
We will need to assess your dental health to determine if cosmetic laser teeth whitening is a suitable treatment for you. Ideal candidates for teeth whitening are those with healthy teeth and gums without fillings or restorations.
It is not recommended that pregnant women or nursing mothers undergo laser teeth whitening or any other type of bleaching method.
